Week 1 - Ever Wonder Why

Have you ever had a question so hard you wouldn’t even say it out loud? Or a doubt so big you didn’t feel like you could share it? Have you ever stood alone while shouting toward the sky, WHY? God can handle your “why” questions. This community can handle your “why” questions. Let’s ask them together—and let’s start with: Why do bad things happen?

Tom Weinrich will join me as our Guest Storyteller. Tom grew up in an alcoholic family—watching his parents pass out, fall over, and create chaos. When he was 18 years old there was a house fire…his mom and dad didn’t survive. Tom didn’t deal with the sadness and shame, he turned to the bottle for many years. He’s been sober since 2001. Last Summer, Tom & Connie’s daughter, Hannah, died of a fentanyl overdose. In the midst of all the bad, Tom still says God is good: “God doesn’t protect me from the pain, but God as the kind & loving parent guides me through the pain.”
