Week 4 - Ever Wonder Why

When it comes to faith, doubt is an important and necessary part of the journey. But if you live only into your doubt, in my experience you will lead a boring, lonely, and meaningless life. The Big Book of A.A. warns against “contempt prior to investigation.” When it comes to your life and your recovery, are you able to doubt your understanding of God while at the same time trusting God beyond your understanding? 

I’ll bring the message, then Karie McMullen (Community Ambassador) will interview Janine Fox as our Guest Storyteller. Janine is joining us from California! She’s an “Addict, Loved One of an Addict, and Spiritual Refugee.” She grew up in a chaotic, alcoholic home…and was shipped off to multiple boarding schools at an early age, where she suffered years of religious trauma. In Janine’s words: “I grew up not being able to have faith in safe adults, self-sufficiency became the only thing I could rely on. In recovery, the willingness to believe that others believed restored my faith and gave me a new life.”
